Right in its sweet spot, the 2017 FIGGINS Estate Red has the perfect balance of the freshness of youth and the softening texture that comes with some bottle age. Still showing gobs of ripe cherry and other red fruit, it has developed lovely secondary bottle notes of graham cracker, leather book cover, and a delightful little cola note. The mouth-watering acidity Figgins Estate Vineyard produces is keeping everything taught and juicy, while the tannins have rounded into a delightfully long finish. A joy to experience now, this beauty will also give you another 10 years if you care to lay it down.

It’s hard to believe this is our 10th release of our flagship wine! 2017 was a fantastic vintage in the Walla Walla Valley and this wine shows it in spades. Dark to the rim, with signature aromatic notes of ripe red and blue fruits, tanned leather, black olive, and lilac. The nose simply makes me smile; it is so distinctly FIGGINS! On the palate, if I had to describe the wine in one word it would be precision. The way the sweet fruit and dramatic length are braced by lively acidity and tannins aligns so perfectly that the wine is, quite simply, delicious.
